REGIONAL PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION 5-YEAR COORDINATION PLAN

RGVMPO TRANSIT DEVELOPMENT PLAN

The Transit Development Plan is a tool for RGV MPO to coordinate transit services provided by multiple local transit agencies within the MAB. The plan provides an overview of the transit agencies, and identifies gaps in transit supply by examining present and future transit propensity in terms of high ridership, transit needs, and destinations. The ridership analysis reveals that transit use is paired with walking, 28 percent of the riders are below the age of 18 or above the age of 65, and a majority of the transit riders do not drive. The Plan develops serve alternative scenarios that focus on universal, regional and local connectivity.

RGVMPO COMPREHENSIVE METROPOLITAN TRANSPORTATION PLAN
