The Project Readiness Subcommittee was established in 2023 to increase transparency and provide project status updates to the RGVMPO Transportation Policy Board so they may be well-informed when making decisions to regarding federal transportation funds and selecting projects to advance. The Project Readiness Subcommittee will consist of RGVMPO and TxDOT Pharr District Staff, and local government project RPICs (Responsible Person In Charge; should have LGP 101 Training). Local Government Staff and consultants may attend meetings, but RPICs should be considered for reporting at TAC & Policy Meetings.

 The Congestion Management Process Subcommittee will help identify, analyze, and monitor traffic congestion on roadways to provide data-driven implementation strategies that are to be evaluated for effectiveness over time. This process is cyclic in nature and is an ongoing effort with the intention of alleviating traffic congestion and improving the efficiency of a regional transportation network.

The 2050 Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP) Subcommittee members will be involved in the development of the RGVMPO's 25 year long range transportation planning document that serves as a blueprint for the next 25 years. The document identifies the needs of the community, establishes priorities for funding those needs, and creates a course for meeting those needs.
